Mortehoe & Woolacombe

Mortehoe is a delightful coastal village that dates back to the Domesday Book. The village is surrounded by miles of unspoilt National Trust land with access to the stunning views of Morte Point and the glorious walks of The South West Coastal Path.

Mortehoe has the beautiful St Mary's Church at its centre, a village shop, post office, two pubs, a take away, a fish & chips shop, a café and a garden tea room! Tucked away at the far end of Mortehoe car park you will also find Mortehoe Museum and a lovely little playground for younger children. Please note some of the businesses mentioned above are seasonal and are only open between Easter - October.

Mortehoe is lucky enough to be near to the larger tourist resort of Woolacombe, yet close enough to retreat to the peace and tranquillity of this beautiful coastal village (a 20 min walk – maybe longer on the way up the hill, or a short drive in the car or on the local bus).

In Woolacombe the main attraction has to be the beach, with nearly three miles of glorious sand – perfect for surfing or simply relaxing. In the centre of the resort you will find a number of cafés, restaurants, pubs, a tourist information centre, cash machines, supermarket, surf hire, pitch & put, crazy golf and much more.

There is plenty to do here but we are also the perfect base for exploring further afield... the market town of Barnstaple, Ilfracombe, Lynton & Lynmouth, The Tarka Trail, Exmoor and far more besides - if you can find the time!
